Three Men Leave Man with Broken Jaw in Shocking Guildford Attack
Police in Surrey are hunting three men caught on video after a vicious late-night punch left a Guildford man needing surgery.
Brutal Assault in Woodbridge Road
The attack happened at around 3am on Tuesday, 11 September 2018. The victim was walking home after a night out when he was confronted by three men. One punch smashed his jaw so badly he required a metal plate to be fitted.
Police Appeal for Help Identifying Attackers
Surrey cops have now released moving footage of the suspects, hoping someone will recognise them and come forward. PC Kieran Coffey said:
“The video footage highlights how just one punch can cause serious injury and have devastating consequences. Please get in touch if you have any information which could help us identify who was responsible.”
If you know anything, call police on 101.
Why the Delay in Releasing the Video?
Questions have been raised about why it took nearly eight months for this video to be made public. Police explained this isn’t their first appeal.
In fact, CCTV stills of the men were released back in November 2018, but no one stepped forward. All leads have since been chased.
The decision to release the moving footage was carefully weighed, especially with the victim’s privacy in mind. Police hope this fresh push will finally crack the case and bring those responsible to justice.
