Arrests Sparked by Spice Seizure
On Monday, 18 November 2024, officers nabbed a man on Chatham High Street. A search uncovered seven bags of ‘spice’, a nasty synthetic Class B drug. The haul was seized for analysis, ramping up the crackdown.
Just three days later, on Thursday, 21 November, police executed search warrants in Chatham and Strood. They found cocaine, cannabis, and a mobile phone. Two men were arrested and whisked to custody.
Men Charged with Drug Supply
- John Wray, 45, from Meadowbank Road, Chatham, faces charges of possessing spice with intent to supply.
- Wayne Albone, 37, from Albert Place, Strood, is charged with multiple offences including:
- Being concerned in the supply of cocaine
- Being concerned in the supply of cannabis
- Possessing cocaine with intent to supply
- Possessing cannabis with intent to supply
Both men appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 22 November, where they were remanded in custody. Their next hearing is set for 20 December at Maidstone Crown Court.
