Two Men Admit to Firearm Scare and Injuries on Clapham Common
Brolynn Dangi, 18, from Hounslow, and Keymarni King, 18, from SW17, have both pleaded guilty to carrying a firearm with intent to cause fear. The pair appeared in court on October 1 after a chaotic incident that left two bystanders injured when a loaded shotgun was discharged.
King further admitted to two counts of wounding after dropping the firearm, which accidentally fired. Meanwhile, Dangi also pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking linked to the stolen moped they were riding. King has an additional strike—breaching a criminal behaviour order.
Both defendants remain in custody awaiting sentencing on November 29.
High-Speed Moped Chase Ends in Injury and Mayhem
The drama unfolded just before 5 pm on March 1, 2024, on Clapham Common Southside. Police spotted Dangi and King riding a stolen moped and tried to stop them. In a bid to escape, Dangi mounted the pavement, colliding with a 26-year-old man and causing injuries.
After losing control, the pair fled on foot. During the chaotic getaway, King dropped a loaded sawn-off shotgun that fired, wounding two men aged 27 and 36. The blast also smashed a pub window where customers were enjoying the afternoon, adding to the terror. All injured victims were hospitalised but later released.
Police Hunt Leads to Arrests and Evidence Trail
As they ran, the duo discarded helmets and clothing, which police recovered and linked to them through forensic analysis. The shotgun was tied to Dangi.
In a desperate ploy, they tricked a driver into giving them a lift to Acre Lane, claiming they were chased by a gang. King was arrested three days later, and Dangi followed on March 12. Both were charged and pleaded guilty in court.
Detective Constable Emily Foo said: “The reckless actions of Dangi and King are truly shocking. They fled on a stolen moped with a loaded shotgun, riding on the pavement before losing control. King dropped the firearm, which went off, injuring two people and damaging a pub window. It’s pure luck those injuries weren’t worse.”
“They lied to escape, but thanks to careful police work and CCTV, we tracked and arrested them.”
