Man Dies After Police Chase Ends in Horrific M6 Crash
A man in his 40s has died after a police pursuit ended in tragedy on the M6 near Stoke-on-Trent at around 5am.
Police Attempted to Stop Stolen Audi
The victim was sitting in a stationary traffic management vehicle between junctions 14 and 15 northbound when it was smashed into by an Audi. Staffordshire Police said officers were trying to stop the Audi before the collision.
27-Year-Old Arrested Over Fatal Crash
A 27-year-old man is in custody, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Police believe the Audi was involved in an earlier incident somewhere in the West Midlands.
M6 Shut for Hours – Major Delays Reported
National Highways confirmed the motorway has been closed for hours following the crash, causing delays of at least 60 minutes in the area.
“The victim was the only person in the traffic management vehicle,” detectives said. The case has been passed to the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to police involvement before the collision.
