Newborn Baby Found Dead in Walsall Canal
A shocking discovery in Walsall today as a newborn baby boy was found dead in a canal at Rough Wood Country Park, Willenhall. The grim find happened just after 1pm when a passer-by spotted the infant in the water near Hunts Lane.
Police Launch Urgent Investigation
West Midlands Police have launched a full investigation into the tragic death. Detective Inspector Wes Martin said: “This is a tragic investigation and our priority is to find the baby boy’s mum and ensure she gets the urgent medical help she may need.”
Officers are combing the scene and speaking to anyone who might have witnessed something. They are urging the public to come forward with any information and to refrain from speculation, as it could hinder the investigation and upset those involved.
