Missing Teen Marnie Clayton Found Safe After Nightclub Disappearance
Teenager Marnie Clayton, 18, who vanished after a night out, has been found safe and well in Basingstoke, Hampshire. She was last spotted around 2am Sunday at Atik nightclub on William Street, Windsor, before disappearing.
Man Arrested Over Teen’s Disappearance
Marnie, from Bracknell, Berkshire, was reported missing by her family just after 3am Sunday when she failed to come home.
Hampshire Constabulary have since arrested a 21-year-old man from Reading. He faces charges including battery, assault causing actual bodily harm, breach of police bail, false imprisonment, and making threats to kill. He remains in custody.
Police Praise Public for Helping Find Marnie
Supt. Michael Greenwood, Windsor and Maidenhead’s local policing commander, credited a joint investigation by valley-police/" title="Thames Valley Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="6337">Thames Valley Police and Hampshire Constabulary for locating Marnie.
“I am delighted to confirm that Marnie has been found safe and returned to her family, who were naturally very concerned,” said Greenwood. “This success is thanks to fantastic police work and vital information from thousands of members of the public who shared our appeals.”
He added: “The support from local communities and the media was crucial in bringing Marnie home safe.”
