John Gillan, 56, from Arbroath, has tragically died after his van was struck by a fallen tree near Forfar. The horror crash happened on the B9127 at Whigstreet on Thursday afternoon.
Deadly Solo Crash
- The single-vehicle accident occurred around 5.05pm BST on 19 October 2023.
- Emergency crews rushed to the scene but sadly, John was pronounced dead there.
- Police confirmed no suspicious circumstances and a full report will go to the Procurator Fiscal.
Family Mourns Loving Husband and Grandad
John’s family shared a heartfelt statement through Police Scotland, expressing their shock and sorrow. They described him as a devoted husband to Gaynor, caring dad to Marc, and a cherished grandad to Reygan and Finley.
“She was a loving husband, a caring father, a doting grandad and a dear son, brother, uncle and son-in-law. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him,” the family said.
The grieving family thanked friends and relatives for their support and asked for privacy as they cope with this heartbreaking loss.
