Tragic Knife Attack Near West Croydon Station: 14-Year-Old Boy Dies
Chaos erupted on London Road, near West Croydon Railway Station, on Thursday evening. Police rushed to the scene at 6:41pm after reports of a large fight, but found no suspects or victims at the location.
Boy Turns Up at Hospital with Fatal Stab Wounds
Just after 7pm, a 14-year-old boy arrived at a local south London hospital with stab wounds. Despite desperate efforts by doctors, the youngster sadly died shortly afterwards.
His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers. Formal identification is still pending, while a post-mortem is scheduled.
Homicide Team Launches Murder Probe
Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have taken over the investigation. No arrests have been made yet.
Superintendent Andy Brittain, from the South Area Command Unit, said: “This is a tragic loss of another young life to knife crime. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.”
He added: “We are working tirelessly to piece together what happened near West Croydon Railway Station at around 6.45pm. I urge anyone who witnessed the fight or has any information to come forward immediately.”
