78-Year-Old Brutally Attacked in Brent Launderette

A shocking assault unfolded in a Brent launderette when a man violently barged through the door and targeted a 78-year-old retiree. The attacker ripped the victim’s t-shirt and shoved him against a washing machine, causing the elderly man to crash to the floor.

Victim Suffers Four Broken Ribs

The retired welder hit the ground hard, breaking four ribs in the fall. The assailant then fled the scene, leaving the victim in agony. Paramedics rushed him from Mordaunt Road to hospital, where he spent a week recovering and continues to suffer pain months later.

Attacker Bizarrely Returns to Apologise

In an odd twist, the attacker came back shortly after the attack, knelt down, and said it was “only a joke.” He tried to hand over £20, telling the man to use it to finish his laundry. The gesture did little to ease the victim’s trauma.

Police Urge Public to Help Identify Suspect

The incident occurred around 11:30 am on Saturday, 6 June. Detectives revealed the man arrived in a car with two others who were not involved. Months of investigation have yet to lead to any arrests.

Detective Constable Helen Moriarty said: “This was a frightening and cowardly attack on an innocent victim. We need the public’s help to identify the man responsible.”

“The victim and his family were left terrified. We are determined to secure justice and ensure those responsible face the consequences.”

“If you recognise this man or were in the area at the time, please contact police or Crimestoppers.”
