Police are hunting witnesses after a cyclist was deliberately knocked off his bike in Southampton. The shocking smash happened just after 10pm on Monday, 22 May in Colewell Close.
Silver Astra Targets Cyclists on Shirley Towers Estate
A 30-year-old man and a 32-year-old man were cycling together near Shirley Towers estate when a silver, old-style Vauxhall Astra appeared. The car, packed with several people inside, started following the pair.
Officers say the vehicle veered off the road, mounted a grassy patch, then slammed into one of the cyclists on Colewell Close. The driver sped off towards Sedbergh Road, leaving the victim battered.
Police Investigate as Serious Assault – Car Seen Without Lights
Police believe this was no accident but a deliberate attack. The silver Astra, described as having a loud exhaust, was reportedly seen cruising the area earlier without any lights on.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who saw the car or knows who owns it to come forward.
