Coastguards and Emergency Crews Race to Rescue Mud-Trapped Victim at Hilsea

A major rescue operation got underway early Saturday morning as two coastguard teams from Portsmouth and Hillhead joined forces with South Central Ambulance Service, police, and Hampshire Fire and Rescue to free a person stuck in thick mud at the Mountbatten Centre in Hilsea.

Emergency Services Called Just After Midnight

The drama unfolded shortly after 12.30am when emergency crews were alerted. Firefighters from Cosham rushed to back up the coastguards in the tricky rescue mission.

Trapped Person Freed and Handed Over to Police

Thankfully, the victim was safely pulled from the mud and handed into the care of Hampshire Constabulary without injury.
