Bomb Squad Called After Suspicious Object Found in Lake
Police and Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams rushed to Westmorland Park this morning after a member of the public pulled a suspicious object from the lake.
100 Metre Safety Zone Enforced
The alarm was raised at 10:02am. Officers quickly set up a 100-metre cordon around the area as a safety precaution while experts assessed the item.
Controlled Explosion Planned
EOD specialists have examined the object and confirmed it poses a potential risk. A controlled explosion is scheduled to safely dispose of the device, keeping nearby residents safe.
