Police Targeted in Shocking Bicester Car Chase
Officers are hunting for info after a vehicle was deliberately driven at police in Bicester. The drama kicked off around 4.30pm on Friday (7/1) on Graven Hill Road, when police tried to stop two cars travelling together – a stolen dark blue VW Golf R and a blue-silver Seat Altera.
VW Pushed By Seat Before Dangerous Escape
The VW had its hazards flashing and was being pushed from behind by the Seat. During the chaos, two suspects jumped out of the VW. One jumped straight into the Seat (registration DY05ORJ), which then charged at two police officers. Fortunately, the officers dodged out of the way just in time.
Wild Pursuit Through Red Lights
The Seat tore through multiple red lights on the A41 heading towards Aylesbury. Meanwhile, the other suspect ran off on foot towards the Graven Hill estate, around Westacott Road and Roberts Drive.
Police Appeal For Witnesses And CCTV
1 Valley Police are probing offences including assault on a police constable, dangerous driving, and vehicle theft. The stolen VW has now been recovered but no arrests have been made yet.
“This was a serious incident and it was lucky the officers were not seriously injured or killed,” said PC Rachael McCreadie of the Incident and Crime Response team.
“We’re urging anyone with dash cam, CCTV, or mobile footage of the vehicles, suspicious people, or the incident to get in touch with us immediately.”
