West London Imam Stabbed in Baffling Attack

A West London Imam was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in a shocking assault that has left police scratching their heads over the motive. Sheikh Mohamed Yusuf, in his 30s, was targeted in Hounslow on Monday, September 22.

Mosque Confirms Imam in Stable Condition

The Al Furqan Education Trust revealed their Imam, Sheikh Yusuf, was the victim. He managed to get himself to hospital, where doctors confirmed his injuries are serious but not life-threatening or permanent.

“Our community experienced a deeply distressing incident involving our Imam, Imam Yusuf, who was the victim of an unprovoked stabbing. Alhamdulillah, he is currently in a stable condition in hospital and receiving the appropriate care,” a mosque spokesperson said on social media.

They urged people to avoid rumours or speculation online, warning it could disrupt the police probe and cause more pain for the community and family. “We ask you to keep Imam Yusuf in your duas,” they added.

Police Stumped – No Motive or Arrests Yet

The Met Police confirmed officers were called to the hospital at 8pm on September 22 after reports of a knife injury. Although serious, the wound is not life-threatening.

“The investigation is ongoing and officers are keeping an open mind about the possible motive for the attack which happened in the Hounslow area. No arrests have been made yet and enquiries continue,” said a police spokesperson.
