Massive Flat Blaze Tears Through Barking Block
A huge fire has erupted in a multi-dwelling block on De Pass Gardens, Barking Riverside, this afternoon. Flames are ripping through flats from the ground floor all the way up to the sixth floor.
Firefighters Battle Spreading Inferno
Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters have been scrambled to the scene. Blaze fighters from Barking, Dagenham, East Ham and nearby stations are tackling the roaring flames.
Flames are visible licking the outside of the block, threatening neighbouring properties as the fire spreads rapidly.
No Injuries Reported Amid Road Closures
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson confirmed the fire was reported at 3.31pm and crews remain on-site battling the blaze. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
Metropolitan Police say no injuries have been reported. Officers are helping with road closures around De Pass Gardens to keep the public safe.
