Just after midnight on Tuesday, September 23, burglars struck in Chippenham, Wiltshire. They broke into a storage unit at John Coles Park and made off with several chainsaws and garden tools. Witnesses spotted two men hauling the stolen gear nearby, triggering a rapid police response.
CCTV Snags Burglars – Quick Arrests Follow
Thanks to sharp CCTV footage, Wiltshire Police zeroed in on a suspect fast. A 19-year-old man was arrested the next day, Wednesday, September 24, around 5.30pm. The following morning, a 16-year-old boy was also taken into custody. Both remain held in Melksham for questioning.

Insp Pete Foster said: “These arrests came about following police enquiries and diligent members of our community raising concerns regarding suspicious behaviour. It’s really important that if you see somebody acting in a suspicious manner to alert police so we can further investigate.”
