Search for Michael Norman Ends in Heartbreak
Dorset Police sprang into action at 3.11pm on Friday 17 March after concerns were raised about 95-year-old Michael Norman’s welfare. Despite an intensive search involving officers, the NPAS helicopter, Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR), and Wessex 4×4 Rescue, hope faded.
Body Discovered After Gruelling Hunt
On Saturday afternoon, 18 March, rescuers found the body of a man believed to be Michael. Formal identification is still pending, but police confirmed the grim discovery.
No Suspicion Over Death
The authorities have confirmed the death is not suspicious. HM Coroner has been informed and is overseeing the case.
