Chaos in Plaitford: Two Labradors Attack Pet Sheep in Broad Daylight

Police are hunting the owners of two dogs that launched a brutal attack on pet sheep near Romsey. The shocking incident happened just after midday on Sunday, May 22, in fenced-off fields by a home in the quiet village of Plaitford.

Black and Golden Labradors Turn Violent

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a black Labrador and a golden Labrador viciously pounce on two sheep. The attack only stopped when a bystander shouted at the dogs.

Mystery Third Dog on the Loose

The pair were accompanied by a scruffy Highland White Terrier, who was described as filthy and unruly. None of the three dogs wore collars or identification, and no owner was spotted nearby.

Sheep Hospitalised After the Attack

Both sheep suffered injuries requiring urgent veterinary care. PC Claire Bates from the local police station expressed serious concern over the dogs’ aggressive behaviour.

“While this is a rare occurrence, the severity of the attack and the dogs’ behaviour is concerning. We would like to appeal to the local rural community and for the dog owners to come forward.”

If you have any information about the dogs or their owners, the police urge you to get in touch immediately.
