Knife Crime Thwarted After Sharp-Eyed Public Spots Blades in Brighton
PCSO Flagged Down Over Suspicious Knife Sighting
A vigilant PCSO on patrol was stopped by concerned locals who spotted two men carrying a blade on Ann Street at around 3.45pm on Monday 5 September.
Suspects Nabbed Nearby with Knife Recovered
Officers acted fast, receiving a detailed description and quickly tracking down the suspects in Denton Gardens, Brighton Road. Two men, aged 44 and 47 from Worthing, were detained. A knife was found nearby and seized by police.
Arrests Made – Investigation Ongoing
The men were arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife in public but have now been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Investigating officer PC Shaun Moreland said: “This incident shows how vital our PCSOs are, patrolling daily and working closely with the public to tackle crime swiftly.”
