Teens Hurt After Crash With Audi on Zebra Crossing
13-Year-Old Boy Injured in Evening Collision
At around 8.30pm on Wednesday 5 April 2023, police raced to the junction of Manor Avenue and Ruskin Drive after reports of a crash between a bicycle and a black Audi A3 on a zebra crossing.
Emergency crews took a 13-year-old boy to hospital with a head injury. Thankfully, he was later discharged.
Driver Arrested on Suspicion of Drug Driving
A 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He has now been released under investigation as police continue their inquiries.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
PC Matt Leigh of GMP’s Road Policing Unit said: “A boy attended hospital as a result of this collision and we wish him all the best for a full recovery.”
He added: “If anyone witnessed this collision or has any dashcam footage, please get in touch with police as soon as possible.”
