Teen Arrested After Fatal Stabbing in Hayes
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 16-year-old was fatally stabbed in Hayes. The shocking attack happened around 1:30 PM on Friday, May 24, on Bourne Avenue.
Victim Identified as Local Teen Kamari Johnson
Police have named the victim as Kamari Johnson, a local 16-year-old boy. Despite rapid response from officers, the London Ambulance Service, and an air ambulance, Kamari was pronounced dead at the scene.
His grieving family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers. The stabbing has sparked serious concern among Hayes residents.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
On Saturday night, May 25, the 17-year-old suspect was taken into custody. Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila praised the community for helping with the investigation so far but urged residents to avoid speculation.
“I’m keen to hear from anyone who may have captured footage on doorbell or dashcam cameras,” said DCI Gammampila. “Please check and contact us if you have anything relevant.”
