Deadly Crash on A29: Police Hunt Dark Car Witnesses

Police want to speak to the driver or passengers of a small dark-coloured car spotted on the A29 at Fairmile Bottom near Slindon around 2.57pm last Wednesday (14 October).

Motorcycle Collides with Vauxhall and Parked Van

Officers believe the occupants of this mysterious vehicle may have seen a collision involving a black Aprilia motorcycle and a silver Vauxhall Vectra, both heading northeast towards Whiteways Roundabout. After the initial crash, the Aprilia slammed into a Ford Transit van parked across the carriageway.

Tragic Death and Arrest

The motorcyclist, a 50-year-old man from Hampshire, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Vauxhall driver, a 30-year-old man from Storrington, escaped injury but was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released pending further investigation.
