Police have released a CCTV image as part of an investigation into an attempted robbery in Ashford. The incident happened at around 8.30pm on Sunday, 26 July, in Swift Avenue, Finberry, when a man in his 40s was approached by two teenage boys riding a motorbike. It is alleged the pair attempted to steal the victim’s mobile phone by striking his arm before riding away empty-handed. The victim was not injured during the incident, and Kent Police have launched an investigation. Officers have now released a CCTV image of two people they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries. Chief Inspector Jennifer Bassan said: “Whilst I appreciate that the image provided is blurred and the riders are wearing face coverings, we hope somebody is able to recognise the clothing or bike and get in touch. “The addition of CCTV images, even if they are of lesser quality, increases the chances of successful identification.” Anyone who recognises the individuals, or who has any information that could assist the investigation, is urged to contact Kent Police quoting the relevant incident details. Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers. Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the Swift Avenue area at the time of the incident, or who may have dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage which could help identify those involved.
