Teen Arrested After Police Assault and Motorcycle Theft Drama
Police have finally caught the last suspect wanted after a chaotic incident on West End Road and Chalk Hill on September 11.
16-Year-Old Nabbed Over Police Assault and Bike Theft
Last night (October 1), officers arrested a 16-year-old boy from Southampton. He faces multiple serious charges including escape from lawful custody, motor vehicle theft, assaulting a police officer, involvement in Class A drug supply, and burglary. He remains in custody as inquiries continue.
Stolen Motorcycle Stop Turns Violent
The drama unfolded when two officers in an unmarked police car pulled over a stolen motorcycle on West End Road on September 11. Both the rider and pillion passenger were detained but managed to escape during the arrest attempt. One officer was assaulted and had to receive hospital treatment for their injuries.
Another Man Charged in Connection
Earlier, on September 14, police charged a 20-year-old Southampton man regarding the same incident. With the 16-year-old now in custody, the investigation appears to be closing in.
