Dover Drug Gang Busted: Five Jailed for 20 Years

Five men have been locked up for a total of 20 years after admitting drug supply offences in a major Kent Police crack-down.

Massive Police Operation Snaps up 32 Suspects

Between 4 and 6 February 2020, Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate officers carried out 36 raids across Dover as part of a sweeping investigation. The swoop led to 32 people being charged with 67 drug offences.

The first five gang members were sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court on Wednesday 11 March, with court dates looming for 27 others.

Sentences Handed Down to Dover’s Drug Dealers

  • Paul Roberts, 45, of no fixed address, got 5 years 8 months for supplying heroin and crack cocaine.
  • Lewis Carney, 31, from Royal Victoria Place, Dover, jailed for 4 and a half years for involvement in heroin and crack supply.
  • Mohammed Miah, 23, of John Street, South Norwood, sentenced to 4 years 2 months for drug supply role.
  • Tuwarne Matthews, 19, no fixed address, jailed for 3 years 4 months for heroin and crack supply conspiracy.
  • Archie Foad, 19, of Victoria Park, Dover, got 2 and a half years for conspiring to supply heroin and crack cocaine.

Kent Police Vow to Crack Down Hard

Chief Superintendent Nigel Brookes said: “These are the first results from a large and complex operation that has caused significant disruption to those who seek to supply drugs in Dover.”

The scale of this activity sends a clear message: there is zero tolerance for county lines drug gangs in Kent.

“Our officers are working around the clock to gather evidence and take action. We will not ease up in our fight to protect our communities.”
