Thieves Plunder Late Grandad’s Home in Selsey

After the heartbreaking loss of their family patriarch, crooks struck again – breaking into his Manor Road home in Selsey, West Sussex. The late great-grandfather, who battled cancer and leaves behind five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, had his prized possessions stolen within days of his passing.

Burglars Target Grieving Family’s Treasure Trove

The robbers made off with hundreds of pounds’ worth of valuables. Their haul included rare Chinese katanas (samurai swords), delicate Chinese and Japanese plates, a massive blue vase, and other priceless items. It’s a callous strike on a grieving family still coming to terms with their loss.

Family Shocked by Callous Break-In

Paige De Ste Croix and partner Lee Sharp revealed the grim discovery. “His son went to sort his affairs and found everything ransacked,” Paige said.

“The thieves may have been staking the place out. They knew the flat would be empty. It’s the lowest of the low. We’re all shocked that someone would turn over a dead man’s home. It’s disgusting.”

Police Appeal for Information

The burglary could be linked to a series of raids in the Portsmouth area. Anyone offered Chinese katanas, or Chinese and Japanese plates, is urged to contact West Sussex Police on 101 immediately.
