Major Blaze Erupts on Hayling Island – 50 Firefighters in Battle
Fifty firefighters are battling a huge fire on Hayling Island this afternoon. Seven fire crews have rushed to Southwood Road with six pumps, an Aerial Ladder Platform, and support vehicles.
Two Homes Engulfed in Flames
The fire has ripped through two attached properties, leaving them well alight. Crews from Hayling, Cosham, Havant, Southsea, and Porchester are all on scene fighting the blaze.
Flames Tower Over Neighbourhood
Firefighters are using three powerful jets to tackle the flames. One resident said the fire’s flames shot “as high as the roof” and were visible from nearby homes.
Fire Likely Started in Conservatory
Initial reports suggest the blaze began in a conservatory of one of the properties. More updates will follow as the situation develops.
