Brutal Abuser Sentenced to 20 Years After Tormenting Ex-Partner
Tarik Hill’s 20-Year Sentence
Tarik Hill, 35, a drifter with no fixed address, has been slammed with a tough 20-year sentence for a sustained campaign of domestic abuse against his ex-partner. The Kingston Crown Court found him guilty of false imprisonment, actual bodily harm, harassment, and controlling behaviour in January. In May, he was also convicted of raping a woman aged 16 or over.
On Thursday 20 June, Hill was locked up for 15 years behind bars, followed by a five-year extended licence. He must also register as a sex offender for life.
Horrific Abuse Unveiled
Hill met his victim when she was 29 in September 2016. What started as a relationship soon spiralled into terror. Assaults and intimidation became routine as Hill physically and mentally abused her. He even deleted all the male contacts from her phone to isolate her.
In March 2017, Hill refused to let her leave his flat. He launched a brutal hours-long attack, ending with him forcing her to have sex at gunpoint—telling her she couldn’t leave the bedroom unless she complied. The victim finally ended the nightmare and reported him to police in May 2017.
Justice Served
Detectives from the Met Police’s Complex Case Team moved fast. Hill was arrested the day after the report. He denied everything and claimed to be at home during the attack, but evidence proved otherwise. He was charged in August 2017.
Detective Constable Mark Annal said: “Hill is a violent, high-risk offender who subjected his partner to a truly horrific campaign of abuse. We are pleased he is now behind bars and unable to harm anyone else. The victim has shown enormous courage in coming forward. We hope this sentence helps bring her some closure.”
