Knife-Wielding Vandal Slashes Train Seats on Erith to London Bridge Service
A shocking knife attack on a train has sparked a police hunt. On 23 September at around 3pm, a man was caught slashing multiple seats on a train running from Erith to London Bridge.
British Transport Police Launch Probe
British Transport Police (BTP) have opened an investigation into the incident, treating it as possession of an offensive weapon and a serious public order offence. The man recklessly slashed the headrest behind a passenger, causing alarm onboard.
“Detectives investigating a man in possession of an offensive weapon and a serious public order offence onboard a train from Erith to London Bridge have today released these images in connection,” a BTP spokesperson confirmed.
“At around 3:00 PM on Monday, 23 September, a man slashed several train seats with a knife, including the headrest behind a seated passenger.”
“Officers believe the man in the images may have information which could help with their investigation.”
