Electric Bike Chase Ends in Dagenham Pedestrian Crash

Police are hunting a suspect after a dramatic electric bike chase in Dagenham ended with a woman hit by the fleeing rider. The shocking incident unfolded on Friday evening, January 19, near Green Lane.

Police Attempt to Stop Bike Sparks Collision

At around 5.50pm, officers on patrol signalled for an electric bike to stop. Instead of complying, the rider sped off, causing an immediate collision with a woman in her 20s. The rider then abandoned the bike and fled on foot, leaving police scrambling to track them down.

Injured Woman Rushed to Hospital

The London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene, treating the injured pedestrian before sending her to hospital. Thankfully, her injuries are not life-threatening.

Investigation Underway – Police Seek Witnesses

Met Police are piecing together why the biker tried to escape and how the crash happened. The Directorate of Professional Standards has been notified due to the police pursuit.
