Residents Urged to Check Doorbell and CCTV Footage

Cops are hunting for crucial footage in Meadow Rise, Kingfisher Close, and Newlands Avenue, Sittingbourne, after a spate of car thefts in the early hours of Sunday 31 October 2021. Locals living in these areas are being urged to review their home CCTV and doorbell cameras for any suspicious activity.

Sergeant Issues Warning to Stay Vigilant

Sergeant Daniel Pronger is leading the investigation. He said:

“I’d like to appeal to residents in Iwade and Sittingbourne to check their footage from early morning on 31 October. Unfortunately, there have been several thefts from cars recently. Please be vigilant and take all precautions to protect your belongings.”

He added a stern reminder to motorists: “Remove all valuables when leaving your vehicle unattended, especially overnight.”

Suspect Nabbed, But Police Want More Info

At 5.10am on 31 October, officers arrested a man in his 30s near Key Street, Sittingbourne, connected to nine counts of vehicle theft—eight in Sittingbourne. The investigation is ongoing.
