Man Confesses to Killing Wife in Chilling Phone Call
A man suspected of fatally shooting Lisa Smith outside a Kent pub called a friend less than two hours after the attack and admitted what he’d done, sources reveal.
Final Words Over the Phone
Edvard Stockings, also known as Edvard Smith, contacted his friend Leslie Thompson shortly after the shooting outside the Three Horseshoes pub in Knockholt on Valentine’s Day.
“She’s dead. I love you. I’ll see you on the other side.”
Thompson believes Stockings snapped and killed his wife during a breakdown.
Gunshots Echo in Kent Car Park
Lisa Smith, 43, was shot just after 7pm in the car park of the pub. CCTV captured three gunshots followed by screams and shouting.
After the shooting, Stockings is thought to have driven to the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge near Dartford and gone into the River Thames.
Despite extensive searches lasting over three days, his body has not yet been found.
Car and Gun Left on Bridge
Kent Police found Stockings’ vehicle abandoned on the bridge with a firearm inside.
Emergency call handlers reportedly received alerts about a man spotted on the wrong side of the bridge’s barrier shortly after the incident.
Family and Friends ‘Baffled’ by Tragedy
“They were both the life and soul of the party. We really don’t know why he has done it. I’m baffled,” said Leslie Thompson.
Stockings was deeply shaken by his father’s death two years ago. Thompson is “one million percent sure” that Stockings drowned in the river.
Heartbreaking Tributes Pour In
Lisa Smith, who sometimes used the surname Stockings, leaves behind two children, one in his twenties and a younger sibling.
A family social media tribute has flooded with hundreds of comments from stunned friends and relatives.
Outside the pub, mourners have left balloons and flowers in Lisa’s memory.
