Two Women Found Dead in Crawley Down – Murder Probe Underway

A murder investigation is underway after two women were found dead outside a Crawley Down home on Sunday morning, 22 December. Police arrived at the scene at 10.18am and also discovered a man seriously injured inside the property. He was rushed by ambulance to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Rules Out Knife Crime

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Geldart from the Sussex and Surrey major crime team is leading the inquiry. She stressed: “This is not a knife crime.” DCI Geldart also described the incident as isolated with “no ongoing risk to members of the public.”

Major Police Operation and Community Appeal

Police have deployed significant resources to the scene and expect to remain for the foreseeable future. DCI Geldart asked for the community’s support and patience during the fast-moving investigation, saying: “My thoughts are very much with the friends and family of the two who have sadly lost their lives.”
