Taxi Driver Threatened at Knifepoint in Easterhouse Robbery
Violent Robbery Shakes Glasgow Suburb
Police Scotland has launched a major appeal after a violent robbery in Glasgow’s Easterhouse. A taxi driver was threatened at knifepoint before his vehicle was stolen. The scare has left the local community on edge.
Stolen Vehicles Found Crashed and Abandoned
The stolen taxi was later discovered crashed into a tree near St. Luke’s Avenue in Carluke. Police link this to another incident where a black Mercedes EQB was stolen from Lanark Road, Carluke, in the early hours of Friday, 23 August. That car was later found abandoned on Hallhill Road, Barlanark, Glasgow.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Detective Sergeant Scott McNulty, leading the probe, urged the public for help. “Enquiries are at an early stage. We want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the robbery,” he said.
Police are particularly keen to speak to people waiting at a bus stop on Edinburgh Road who may have seen the robbery. They are also appealing for anyone who spotted a blue Skoda taxi or the black Mercedes EQB driving erratically in Carluke during the early hours of Friday.
