Sex fiend Robert Shepherd locked woman in house and attacked her – jailed for three years!
Robert Shepherd has been slapped with a three-year prison sentence plus another three years on licence after a court found him guilty of sexually assaulting and falsely imprisoning a woman in Leigh. The grim verdict came down at Bolton Crown Court on Friday, January 26.
Shepherd admits horrifying crimes
Shepherd, who signed a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order, had already pleaded guilty back in November 2023 to charges of false imprisonment and sexual assault. His disgusting actions took place on September 26, 2023, when the victim visited his home despite warning signs.
Trapped and terrorised
The victim tried to leave, only to find Shepherd had locked the front door. He physically blocked her exit, continuing his vile behaviour. It was only after she screamed in terror that she managed to push him aside, unlock the door, and race to her car to call the police.
Heroic victim’s bravery praised
Detective Sergeant Sean Goddard of GMP’s Wigan Division hailed the victim’s courage during the investigation. “Shepherd is a dangerous offender who sexually assaulted his victim for his own gratification in what must have been a traumatic experience,” he said. The detective revealed the lasting damage, with the victim too scared to work or leave her home and even forced to sell her car due to painful memories.
