Man Shows Up at Hospital with Gunshot Wound
Chaos erupted early Thursday morning when a 28-year-old man rocked up at The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel just after 4am with a gunshot wound to his arm. Hospital staff quickly called in the police, triggering a rapid response from armed officers from the Metropolitan Police who spoke to the injured man at the hospital.
Thankfully, his injuries aren’t thought to be life-threatening or cause permanent damage. He is currently receiving treatment.
Shooting Took Place on Waley Street, E1
Police investigations suggest the shooting happened on Waley Street, E1 before 4am. Officers rushed to the scene and set up a crime scene, conducting door-to-door inquiries in the area to gather information.
A Met Police spokesperson said:
“At around 04:00hrs on Thursday, 27 March, police were made aware that a 28-year-old man was being treated in hospital for a gunshot wound to the arm.
The incident occurred on Waley Street, E1 before 04:00hrs. Officers have been searching the area and carrying out door-to-door enquiries.
A crime scene is in place. No arrests have been made yet and investigations are ongoing.”
