Monster rapist Thomas Brookes jailed for 12 years over sick child abuse
Remorseless predator brought to justice
Thomas Brookes, 30, repeatedly raped two victims under the age of 13. The victims’ identities remain protected by law. Brookes showed zero remorse throughout the investigation and trial.
Detective Constable Emma Parsons blasted him: “Brookes has refused to accept responsibility for the sick sexual abuse he inflicted on his victims.”
Victims’ courage in face of trauma
Both victims bravely came forward and endured the court ordeal after Brookes denied guilt. “They have had to relive the horrific crimes suffered as children,” said DC Parsons.
“His sentence won’t undo the damage, but we hope knowing he’s behind bars helps them start to heal.”
Harsh sentence handed down at Sheffield Crown Court
Brookes, formerly of Cambridge Crescent, East Dene, was convicted of nine counts of child rape after a four-day trial earlier this year at Sheffield Crown Court.
On Friday 28 April, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison. He will remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life and is also subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
