Two Fatal Motorcycle Crashes Hit Co Roscommon and Co Kerry
Tragedy struck twice yesterday as two separate road accidents in Co Roscommon and Co Kerry claimed the lives of two motorcyclists. Both collisions have left communities in shock.
Co Roscommon Motorcycle Crash Kills Man in His 30s
On the R357 between Shannonbridge and Ballinasloe, a collision at around 5pm yesterday saw a motorcycle and a car crash head-on in Cloneish, Co Roscommon. The motorcyclist, a man in his early 30s, was rushed to hospital but sadly died from his injuries. Thankfully, no one else was hurt in this tragic smash.
Second Crash in Co Kerry Claims Life of Another Motorcyclist
Just hours later in Moyvane North, Listowel, Co Kerry, another fatal collision occurred. A motorcyclist in his 40s collided with a van at about 7pm and was pronounced dead at the scene. The van driver, a man in his 70s, suffered minor injuries and was taken to University Hospital Kerry for treatment.
Witness Appeal as Garda Investigate Kerry Crash
The road in Moyvane North remains closed while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out a detailed technical examination. Gardaí in Listowel are urging anyone who was near the scene between 6.15pm and 7.15pm yesterday, especially those with dash-cam footage, to come forward.
