Eastleigh Car Chase Ends in Double Arrest
Two men were arrested after a stolen car was spotted and chased through Southampton and Eastleigh.
Stolen Vehicle Spotted Days Later
The drama began when a vehicle reported stolen from an Eastleigh address on Wednesday, 5 May, was spotted by police five days later in the Rownhams area. Officers quickly moved to intercept the car.
High-Speed Chase Through Southampton
As officers followed the stolen car into Southampton, they tried to stop it. The driver refused to stop, sparking a short but intense pursuit. The suspects bailed out of the vehicle on Winchester Road in Eastleigh.
Two Southampton Men Busted
- A passenger was immediately detained at the scene.
- The driver was found shortly after in nearby St James’ Park with the help of a dog unit.
“A 23-year-old Southampton man faces multiple charges including burglary, dangerous driving, and drug possession,” police said.
The passenger, also 23 and from Southampton, was arrested for vehicle theft and drug possession. Both were later released under investigation as police continue their enquiries.
