Brent Cross Boosts Security as UK Terror Threat Hits Critical Level
Brent Cross Shopping Centre has stepped up security with thorough searches at every entrance. This comes after the UK terror threat level was raised to “critical” — the highest in a decade.
London on High Alert
Mayor Sadiq Khan said security forces are “doing everything possible to keep Londoners and our city safe” following the alarming escalation. A “critical” threat means an attack could be imminent.
Military Boots on the Ground
Military personnel are now deployed at key locations across London. The Metropolitan Police have ramped up officer numbers after the horrifying Manchester Arena bombing that claimed 22 lives.
Security chiefs are advising organisers of major events like the FA Cup, Rugby Premiership final, and the Flower Show that military presence may be visible.
Mayor Urges Calm and Vigilance
“There is no reason to be alarmed,” Khan insisted. “Our emergency services prepare day in, day out for these situations. I urge Londoners and visitors to stay calm, stay alert, and report anything suspicious.”
“Our thoughts are with the young people and all who were victims of this cowardly and barbaric attack. London stands in solidarity with the people of Manchester.”
