World War Two shell sparks mass evacuation at Isle of Wight hotspot
A popular West Wight attraction was cleared yesterday after a visitor unearthed a live World War Two shell on the beach.

A member of the public stumbled upon a 3-inch live ordnance washed up at The Needles, sparking panic among day-trippers.
Emergency Services Rush In
Coastguard teams from The Needles arrived swiftly just after 2:30pm to secure the area and manage the potentially deadly find.
The swift action ensured the safety of visitors while bomb disposal experts were called in to handle the dangerous relic. The beach remained closed for the afternoon as experts dealt with the unexploded shell.
