Teenagers Jailed Over Daylight Stabbing on Edgware Road
Three teens have been convicted for the brutal daylight stabbing murder of 17-year-old Yousef Beker in central London. Two of the attackers travelled from south London with revenge on their minds after a minor spat.
Trivial Dispute Ends in Fatal Stabbing
On 10 September 2019, Yousef was knifed to death outside a KFC on Edgware Road, Paddington. What started as a petty argument earlier that day quickly spiralled into deadly violence.
- A 17-year-old Lambeth male found guilty of manslaughter
- A 17-year-old Lambeth male convicted of murder and possession of an offensive weapon
- Zeshaun Daley, 19, from SW2, convicted of murder and possession of an offensive weapon
All three will be sentenced soon at the Old Bailey.
Violence Erupts in Broad Daylight
After meeting on Edgware Road, the trio confronted Yousef and his friends. The groups clashed, punches were thrown, then knives appeared. Yousef suffered fatal chest wounds and was chased down as he tried to escape.
The attackers fled, dumping knives in nearby gardens before regrouping to head back south of the river.
Investigation and Justice
Emergency services rushed Yousef to St Mary’s Hospital, but he died hours later from multiple stab wounds. A thorough police investigation, led by DCI Andy Partridge, relied heavily on witness statements from the busy street scene.
“Yousef had his whole life ahead of him. His family have been left devastated,” said DCI Partridge.
“Fuelled by a minor row, the killers armed themselves and travelled miles to attack him in broad daylight. The violence was brutal and sustained; Yousef never stood a chance.”
“I hope these convictions send a message: violence with knives will not be tolerated. London is safer with these offenders off the streets.”
Police urge the public to come forward with any information about weapons or violent crime to help prevent further tragedies.
