Dino Donaldson, 21, showed no remorse after brutally stabbing university student Anojan Gnaneswaran to death at Strawberry Hill station, Twickenham.

Deadly Row Over Drugs Ends in Murder

The shocking killing happened on January 8, 2024. A dispute exploded between two groups over a drug deal — £50 for 10 MDMA tablets. The argument quickly turned violent. Donaldson chased the 21-year-old accounting student onto the railway tracks and stabbed him repeatedly in the chest, abdomen, and thigh. Anojan was pronounced dead at the scene.

Grinning Killer Boasts About Fatal Stabbing

CCTV caught Donaldson grinning less than an hour after the attack. Later, chilling audio from a doorbell camera revealed him boasting:

“I stabbed him through the back bro, I stabbed him fully. I watched it and I felt it go in him, yeah.”

Shocking footage also showed him laughing aboard a night bus in the aftermath of the murder.

Killer Caught Hiding and Found with Drugs

Police arrested Donaldson on January 11 at his West London home, where he was found hiding in a cupboard. Officers discovered 74 wraps of crack and heroin worth more than £1,000 in his bedroom.

Victim Remembered as Talented and Full of Promise

Anojan’s family paid tribute to a “much-loved son and brother,” revealing he was in his third year studying accounting and finance. They said:

“Anojan excelled at all sports and had a first-dan black belt in karate. He competed in the World and European Karate Championships. We will all miss him so much.”

Old Bailey Jury Finds Donaldson Guilty

On Tuesday, a unanimous jury at the Old Bailey found Donaldson guilty of murder. Judge Angela Rafferty KC remanded him in custody and will sentence him at a later date. British Transport Police Detective Chief Inspector Paul Attwell said:

“What started as an argument over a drug deal ended in a young man’s life being cut short by a remorseless thug. Donaldson armed himself with a knife and showed his true cowardice by never admitting responsibility. Thankfully, the jury saw through his lies. No verdict can bring back Anojan, but we hope this provides his family some closure.”
