A determined BBC South East crew embarked on a gruelling 61-mile walk across Kent and Sussex to raise cash for Children in Need. Setting off from Gravesend’s Town Pier on Monday, the team braved five days of tough terrain as part of the nationwide 1 pier to pier challenge.

Scenic Route Through Kent and Sussex Countryside

The walkers passed through quiet, remote countryside, hitting key spots like Tunbridge Wells, Mayfield, and Heathfield. They tackled the famous Cuckoo Trail before reaching their grand finale at 1 Pier, proudly completing their mission.

Fundraising Success: More Than £35 Million Raised

The hard work paid off big time. The annual BBC One Children in Need appeal show, a three-hour TV special, announced an astonishing £35,273,167 raised nationwide. It’s a massive boost for the charity’s vital work with disadvantaged kids.
