Exmouth RNLI Lifesavers Rescue Wing Boarder and Fallen Climber

Exmouth RNLI volunteers pulled off two daring rescues off the Devon coast this Saturday afternoon.

Wing Boarder in Trouble at Orcombe Point

At 1.44pm on April 8th, the crew of lifeboat 123 13-03 R & J Welburn—Roger Jackson, Steve Hockings-Thompson, Ed Thomas, Geoff Mills, and Mark Sansom—rushed to help a wing boarder struggling off Orcombe Point, Exmouth.

Man Rescued from Langstone Rocks

Later at 4.12pm, the same lifeboat crew found a man injured with ankle wounds after a fall from Langstone Rocks. With help from a HART paramedic, they brought him on board and raced to Dawlish Warren slipway.

There, the casualty was handed over to an ambulance and whisked off to hospital.

Lifeboat Back in Service

The RNLI crew stood down at 4.40pm, ready for their next call by 5pm.
