Tragedy on West Wickham High Street as One Dies in Late-Night Incident
A fatal incident rocked West Wickham’s High Street just after midnight on March 13. Emergency crews rushed to the scene following reports of a seriously injured person, but sadly, one victim died at the scene.
High Street Closed After Deadly Incident
The drama unfolded around 12:40 am. Police and London Ambulance Service teams quickly responded to urgent calls. Despite rapid medical attention, the person was pronounced dead on the spot.
The High Street remains shut both ways between the A214 Station Road (Swan traffic lights) and Ravenswood Avenue. Drivers face heavy delays, with traffic rerouted via Station Road, Manor Park Road, and Ravenswood Crescent. Nearby areas are gridlocked as a result.
Official Confirmation from London Ambulance Service
“We were called at 12:42 am today (March 13) to reports of a person injured in the High Street, West Wickham,” said a London Ambulance Service spokesperson. “We sent ambulance crews and an advanced paramedic, but despite our best efforts, the patient sadly died at the scene.”
