First Picture Emerges of Croydon Baby “Alexander” Who Died Suddenly
Tragic first images of baby Alexander, who died from a suspected heart attack in Croydon, have surfaced. A shaken neighbour described young mum Ciara Johnston sprinting down the stairs, screaming, “My baby is not breathing,” just before lunchtime on Tuesday.
Paramedics Rush to Save Baby Alexander
Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service arrived quickly after the emergency call. They struggled to revive Alexander before rushing him to hospital. Sadly, the 17-month-old boy was later pronounced dead.
Heartbreaking Scene at Croydon Home
An unnamed witness who called for an ambulance stayed with the distraught mother at the scene. She described Ciara cradling her baby, who was limp and blue-faced. “She’s a lovely, caring mum. It’s just so tragic,” the neighbour said. “My daughter used to play with her son. I had to explain what happened.”
Police Investigate Unexplained Baby Death
Met Police confirmed officers were called at 11:26am on Tuesday, 25 February, to a home on Colson Road, Croydon. LAS alerted police about the cardiac arrest. A forensic scene is now in place, and detectives from the South Area Command Unit are leading the inquiry. No arrests have been made.
The family have been informed, and the death remains unexplained as investigations continue.
