Manchester’s Festival of Christmas Trees Returns with a Bang!
Manchester’s Francis House Children’s Hospice is kicking off the festive season in style with its annual Festival of Christmas Trees. Opening on October 28 at a pop-up shop in Quayside MediaCityUK, this heartwarming event showcases 40 stunningly decorated Christmas trees. Each tree is loaded with exciting prizes – think vouchers, signed football shirts, hampers, and one-of-a-kind handmade gifts.
Bid to Win and Support a Great Cause
The idea is simple: visitors place bids on their favourite trees, with every penny raised going directly to Francis House. Located in Didsbury, the hospice provides crucial respite care, homecare, and end-of-life services to families with children and young people facing life-limiting conditions.
This festive fundraiser unites local businesses, community groups, and individuals who go all out decorating the trees. Big names backing the event this year include JP Goldman, Beaverbrooks the Jewellers, Morrisons, DLA Piper, and more.
Join In, Bid Big, and Bag a Unique Christmas Tree
Julie Williams, fundraising officer at Francis House, said: “Anyone visiting the display is in for a real treat. Our tree sponsors have something special for everyone, so place a bid and you might take home a truly unique Christmas tree!”
Bidding runs for five weeks leading up to Christmas, both in-store and online at festivaloftrees.co.uk.
More Than Just Trees – Festive Fun Galore
The pop-up shop also stocks Christmas decorations, gifts, and cards for sale. Visitors can try their luck in a raffle and lucky dip, with plenty of prizes up for grabs.
With some trees fetching hundreds of pounds, Francis House hopes to smash last year’s impressive £25,000 haul.
