Jacqueline Jossa Slams EastEnders Return Rumours
Jacqueline Jossa has slammed rumours she’s making a full-time comeback to EastEnders. The I’m a Celebrity star denied reports she’s set to reprise her role as Lauren Branning permanently.
Not Coming Back—For Now
Following her recent guest appearance in the BBC One soap’s tribute to June Brown, fans went into overdrive, hoping Lauren Branning was returning for good. But Jacqueline was quick to squash the gossip.
“I 100% have not confirmed a return,” she insisted on Instagram Stories.
“I’m not on the way back to the Square full time, it’s not in talks. I don’t know if something’s been taken out of context or made up, but I’m shutting down any rumours.”
“That’s not me saying I’d never go back. When and if the time is right, I would love to.”
“EastEnders was the best job ever and an honour for eight years. As of right now, I’m not going back. Thanks for all the excited messages—sorry to disappoint!”
Fan Favourite Returns for One Last Hurrah
Jacqueline’s return saw Lauren reunite with her on-screen family, including Sonia Fowler, and confront Linda Carter over an affair with Max Branning. She originally took on the role back in 2010, stepping into the shoes of Madeline Duggan, and stayed until 2018.
For now, it looks like Lauren Branning’s journey on EastEnders remains on pause—much to eager fans’ disappointment.
