Lincolnshire Police launched an investigation after the body of a 55-year-old man was discovered on Clifton Street, Lincoln, early Sunday morning, 12 April. However, a post-mortem examination on Monday, 13 April, revealed the man died of natural causes. Three individuals arrested in connection with the case have now been released with no further action. A file will be sent to the coroner as investigations continue.
Initial Murder Suspicion Sparks Arrests
Officers responded just before 10:30 BST on Sunday after emergency services confirmed the man had died some time earlier. Two men, aged 33 and 50, and a 54-year-old woman were apprehended on suspicion of murder but later released once new evidence emerged.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
Lincolnshire Police are still urging anyone who was near Clifton Street between 4pm Saturday and 10:20am Sunday to come forward if they saw or heard anything suspicious.
- They want information from drivers or pedestrians who travelled along Kesteven Street or Clifton Street during that time.
- Video or security footage from those areas may prove vital to the ongoing inquiry.
